September 19, 2006: A bloodless military coup staged by General Sonthi Boonyarataklin, the Commander-in-Chief ended the first rally of PAD against Thaksin Shinawatra. PAD declared observers' role and let the junta work. Sondhi Limthongkul carried on intense political education through ASTV and Manager's media network.

November 2006: Sondhi Limthongkul and his ASTV team made a tour of lectures on Thailand's political situations and Thaksin regime to Thai expatriates in several states in USA e.g., New York, Chicago, Texas, San Francisco, Los Angeles. Thousands of Thai expatriates joined PAD and formed networks of PAD in USA and Canada.

Failure of the junta government led by General Surayudth Julanon, Prime Minister then, to tackle the economy of the country as well as to finish off Thaksin's corruption cases and to reform the administrative mechanisms for true democracy provided loop holes and weak points for Thaksin regime to resume their power through vote buying and Thaksin's propaganda in the rural areas.

January 2008: As soon as People's Power Party led initially by Samak Sundaravej, the substitute of the disbanded Thai Rak Thai party, both proxies of Thaksin Shinawatra got the majority into the House of Parliament, the 5 core leaders, Major General Chamlong Seemueng, Sondhi Limthongkul, Somsak Kosaisuk, Pipop Thongchai, Somkiat Pongpaiboon held a meeting and a press conference, when they made a clear statement that they would wait and see what the parliament and the government would do. PAD was not going to protest if there would be no attempt to amend the laws to launder Thaksin. However, It turned out that PPP and the coalition parties relentlessly tried to amend the constitution regardless of serious warning from PAD. A preliminary PAD masses meeting at Thammasat University's hall was attacked by street violences inflicting by red UDD racketeers.

May 25, 2008: Sunday PAD launched a mass rally, starting at the Democracy Monument, marching along the Rajdamnoen Road and set a stage at Makawan Bridge. During the marching, several PAD women were physically attacked by provoking red UDD. Some were slapped in the faces. Unarmed peaceful marching crowd were thrown with sticks and stones while police ignored. Eversince, PAD had to set up voluntary guards, wearing motorcycle helmets and carrying flag posts to self-protect PAD rallying crowd.

May 30, 2008: The Police concluded that Jakrapop Penkae, a Minister of the Ministry of the Prime Minister, in Samak's Cabinet then, had committed a lese Majeste with a speech in English previously given to the foreign press association. Jakrapop had to resign, claiming his resignation was to protect the King piece on the chess board. PAD also exposed another Thai speech of Jakrapop given to Thai expatriates in Los Angeles.

May 31, 2008: Saturday morning, PM Samak then, angrily and boastfully declared on a national public TV program, NBT, to violently raid on PAD's rally. Immediately, hundreds of thousands of people came out to join PAD to resist any government's measures. On the following day Samak had to twist his tongue and denied any plan to use force to disperse the rally.

June 2008: PAD's rally exposed the hidden information about unfair too high priced fuel. The government was forced to negotiate with the distillers to reduce the price 3 bahts per liter for diesel 122 million liter per month.

June 5, 2008: PAD pressured the House of Parliament, criticizing undue hastened attempt and the conflicts of interests to amend the 2007 Constitution.
Senators withdrew the supports after PAD submitted more than thirty thousand signatures to penalize the MPs who would amend the laws with conflicts of interests. The 2.4 billion baht budget supposed to be for the amendment referendum was saved by PAD.

June 11, 2008: The Supreme Court held a press conference about Thaksin and Potjaman's three lawyers attempted to bribe the Court's officers with a candy bag containing 2 million baht cash. Later, the Court ruled a six-month jail sentence to Pichit, Suphasee and Thana for court contempts. R

June 26, 2008: After PAD's rally exposed hidden failures of the government actions on rice trading and rice price subsidy processes. Samak was forced to abandon subsidized blue bag rice under the then Minister of Commerce Mingkwan's policy.
