His Majesty the King gave a speech as presiding over a swearing-in ceremony for Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and his Cabinet members.
I am pleased to hear the cabinet to take positions swore to perform the duties for the benefit of the nation.
You have the most important duties to make the nation happy and contained. If you work well, the country will be in good order and it will be a blessing to the country. The country needs good care. Without it, public service will not be good enough. If you can ensure happiness and public order, the country will go ahead well just like as wished by all Thais. It is for preserving status of being Thai. I wish you perform your duties at your best in order to make Thais in good order and happy. If you do not do it right --regardless of any high position or layman, even any single person-- may fail the country.
Therefore, you have important works because of your high positions to make the nation progress well.
I wish you could perform for the virtue and peace of the country which is the highest priority. If successful, you will be happy as well as the people in general and in all groups. Then, it would enable any persons to work further.
If you look after the nation to be smooth, you will have a stable happiness. What you intend to perform well, therefore, is the virtue to build yourself as well as the public. If the public lives well, you will also live well.
I wish you could smoothly perform to make the country run smooth because the nation needs peace in the country.
I wish you could smoothly perform everything and I wish you successful in every of your work.
